SARA GRAHAM
The Spaces That Were Missed Have Been Rearranged
OCTOBER 7 – NOVEMBER 1, 2024

“The Spaces That Were Missed Have been Rearranged” brings together 10 years of my studio practice and my observations of the city”, writes Sara Graham. “The artwork in this exhibition is informed by my daily observations of the urban form, and how spaces and places interpolate as one moves through them and where points of views are constantly shifting and revealing new perspectives.”
Fata Morgana is a new body of work about Vancouver created for this exhibition. It is inspired by Cedric Price, a British architect, particularly his notion of movement in architecture, despite the contradiction of immobility of built forms. Fata Morgana is a type of mirage, that produces multiple overlapping images that actively change and distort creating the deceptive appearance of distant objects.
